Message from the President

Randy Ball
President 2011-2012
_When someone looks at their field of employment as a career, they invest themselves in their field to help it to grow. As their profession grows, their career can also grow. Pharmacy is one of the professions that has continued to grow and evolve, providing more opportunities for members of the profession. This is a direct result of members of the profession being involved and educating those outside of our profession on what we can do to improve patient care and assist others on the healthcare team. If everyone who came before us had looked at pharmacy as a job, we wouldn’t have pharmacists in ED’s or ambulatory care clinics, we wouldn’t have the authority to manage patients by protocols, and we wouldn’t be helping to solve issues related to readmissions and other quality measures. I have been practicing pharmacy for 29 years now and am more excited about our profession now than when I first graduated.
