Pharmacy Internship Program in Hospital Pharmacy

This internship program is dedicated to Ann and Leo Godley.  The Godleys came to Texas in 1958 and, in 1965, they established the first hospital pharmacy residency program in the state.


The goal of this program is to provide pharmacy students with an orientation to post-graduate pharmacy residency training. 

 

There are 10 week internships programs at Scott & White Hospital in Temple,TX in the summer.  Applicants must be a student in a college/school of pharmacy.  The positions are a full time commitment and are treated as temporary employees, expected to abide by the policies and procedures of the site


Pharmacy Internship in Managed Care Pharmacy


There are 2 managed care internships available to TSHP R&E Foundation applicants. 

 

The first is located at the University of Texas Medical Branch Correctional Managed Care Department of Pharmacy in Huntsville, TX serving the inmate population of Texas.


The second is in cooperation with Medco Health Solutions and TSHP.  The site is the Medco Health Solutions facility in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

 


Internship in Federal Pharmacy Procurement Programs


This is a program offered at the offices of the 340B Prime Vendor Program/Apexus in
Irving, TX.

 

It is designed to expose interns to government pricing strategies and operations of pharmaceutical suppliers and distribution networks.


New for 2009!


The Foundation is currently working on development of several internship sites that will include rotations involving a broad range of subjects at a military facility in Central Texas, informatics in Houston and a Pharmacy Performance Improvement program in the Texas Valley.  Additional information will be posted as it becomes available.
