Meeting Summaries
_01/20/12
The Council on Organizational Affairs met on January 20, 2012. At this
meeting, the draft TSHP Organizational Chart was revisited after receiving
additional comments from the Board of Directors. Recommendations included
adding or referencing the TSHP PAC and R&E to the chart and clarifying the
need for the Local Chapters’ President/President-Elect to be a member of
TSHP. The Council approved the inclusion of the above recommendations with
an updated draft of the organizational chart forthcoming.
Additionally, the Council reviewed the Bylaws for the newly created Coastal
Bend Society, changes to the Panhandle Society Bylaws and the TSHP Policy &
Procedures Manual. The Council found no substantive changes needed and
recommended all move to the Board of Directors for final review and
approval. The Council also discussed and supports the proposed name change
for the Council on Public Affairs to the Council on Public Affairs and Advocacy
pending that Council’s internal approval of the change.
Finally, the Council discussed the development of a “special recognition
awards” program. Discussion centered on structure, award name, the need
for criteria and how the award would be recognized. The Council will bring
this discussion to the upcoming Board of Directors meeting for further
comments.
